Work

My research topic deals with multiple robot/vehicle coordination. I focus particularly on the two following subjects :

  • In the near future, cars are expected to be automated, not requiring a driver, and to have sensing and communication abilities. In this context, my research consists of designing high-level coordination algorithms for automated cars in order to avoid collisions (safety) and to mitigate congestion (efficiency).
  • Cars being automated or not, when the traffic is dense, coordination will result in the formation of queues at the entry of the conflicting regions, i.e. the intersections. I work in particular on the optimal control of traffic signals (traffic lights) using tools of the queuing network theory. The purpose is to use the transportation network at maximum capacity and to reduce the travel time of users.
