Research

Here you can find information about our main research themes.

The objective of IMARA is to improve the road transport in terms of safety, efficiency, comfort and minimize its inconvenient. The technical approach is focused on the driving assistance up to full automation and the collaboration between vehicles, infrastructure, and driver.

The IMARA research themes are divided in 3 main groups:

Driving Assistance and Automation

The groups working in this theme are focused in the research of technologies and algorithms for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications.

  • Sensors and Data Fusion
  • Vehicle control and cooperative behavior
  • Cybercars

Modeling, Control and Optimisation of Transport Systems

The groups working in this theme are focused in the modeling, control and optimization of transport systems.

  • Stochastic models
  • Operation research on logistics
  • Optimization of transport modes (multimodality)

Communication Technologies for Mobiles

The groups working in this theme are focused in the research of secure and optimized communication architectures for wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) to support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications.

  • VANETS, Ad-Hoc networks, 802.11p
  • IPv6 communications
  • QoS, safe architectures
